Lecce 0-1 Roma “Beyond the Abyss”

Abisso-Abyss. This is the name of another italian referee who thinks VAR should apply at random. Roma were robbed once again of two clear penalties, same as in Bologna, though manages to get past all referees mistakes to claim the 3 points. All in spite of utter incompetence. We hope.

Nevermind of Kolarov missing a penalty, Roma looked focused, only not so cynical. Eight goal opportunities, in the end only one in the back of the net. Edin Dzeko on the scoresheet again. But it is the amount of work involved, the creation of chances not converted. Zaniolo, Kluivert, Dzeko, Mkhitarian, Kolarov. All had opportunities. But at least, 3 points in the bag.

If Atalanta was a tough test, then Bologna and Lecce both deserve a mention. But Atalanta has shown that Europe is not the same thing. They are a good team in Italy.  Likely it was Roma’s fault to lose against them. Next Wolfsberger. Not a bad team! With Pellegrini and Mkhitarian now out injured for weeks, and Under still out,  the reserves hopefully will do the job. Pastore and Kalinic. Give ’em a chance. Then Cagliari! Daje!
